Inukjuak

This series arose from frequent flights over Hudson Bay where the pack ice and sheets of pure clear ice and shift and mesh together. These images were painted on glass and then peeled off using a technique he developed. The scraping of paint, the eroding surface, the pushes of wet paint, and dry paint echo the elements of the natural world. Wind, rain, ice, and snow in all their varieties play their roles. The painting process is a parallel phenomenon where patterns emerge and are reconized.
